The FarmTRX RTK Base Station is a weatherproof, plug-and-play, high-accuracy positioning base station – made in Canada – that provides RTK corrections over the internet or via local radio connection. No need to flip through pages of configuration screens and manually enter location coordinates. Simply plug it in, select the base station in your app of choice, and you’re good to go!

RTK – expensive and hard to use?

Most factory-installed RTK systems have several drawbacks:

  • They require expensive subscriptions to high-precision location services
  • Non-experts find them almost impossible to configure correctly
  • They’re hard to use in general

RTK Base Station from FarmTRX changes all that.

RTK Base Station lets you run your own RTK correction network, deliver high-accuracy positioning data to every receiver on your farm, and, best of all, eliminate recurring RTK subscription costs. All with a simple, plug-and-play setup.

RTK Base Station is ideal for farmers who run multiple RTK-enabled seeders, sprayers, combines, etc., and are tired of paying hundres of dollars for RTK correction subscriptions for every machine. Most precision agriculture farmers use at least a handful of RTK-enabled devices for their operations, so annual RTK corrections fees add up very quickly.

How it works

Once the RTK Base Station has been installed at a fixed location with a clear view of the sky, it uses multiple GNSS satellites to survey its own position. It calculates corrections to determine its position with centimeter-level accuracy. The RTK Base Station sends the corrected location data to a cloud-based FarmTRX NTRIP server that broadcasts correction data over mobile data networks to RTK-enabled combines, seeders, and spreaders in the field. In remote areas with limited or no cell phone coverage, the RTK Base Station can broadcast corrections over local radio (LoRa).
