Production Technician

Building & Shipping Precision Agriculture Technology to the World

  • Company: FarmTRX / Troo Corporation
  • Location: On-site
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Pay: CA$20–$25 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday

About FarmTRX

FarmTRX builds affordable, aftermarket precision agriculture technology that helps farmers collect accurate yield data from their combines. Since 2015, we’ve been developing the IoT hardware and software that makes strategic yield monitoring accessible to farmers around the world.

We’re a small team working at the intersection of agriculture, hardware, and software. Every unit we ship goes through our hands — and ends up on working farms across North America, South America, Europe, and beyond.

The Role

We’re looking for a Production Technician to help bring FarmTRX yield monitors from assembly bench to shipment. This isn’t a standard warehouse role. You’ll be hands-on with real hardware, following technical setup procedures, and playing a direct part in getting a specialized product out the door.

It’s a good fit for a recent grad or co-op student who wants to see how a hardware product actually gets built, tested, and shipped — and who’s looking for a role with room to grow.

What You’ll Do

  • Assemble FarmTRX yield monitor units at various stages of the production process
  • Mount sensors to reference blocks and run characterization procedures
  • Plug ECUs into QA PCs and execute Python-based setup and configuration scripts
  • Track serial numbers, apply barcodes, and maintain production records
  • Perform quality assessment and quality control checks on hardware
  • Complete final packaging and prepare units for global shipment
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and general production floor tasks

What We’re Looking For

  • Comfortable with computers and technology — able to follow technical procedures on a PC without hand-holding
  • Some background or interest in electronics, hardware, or a technical field is an asset
  • Attention to detail and consistency — serial numbers and QC records need to be right
  • Able to work with your hands and maintain quality across repetitive tasks
  • Organized and self-directed, with good communication skills
  • Comfortable in a small team environment where the work shifts day to day
  • An interest in agriculture or precision ag technology is a bonus, and relevant if you’re thinking about longer-term growth here
  • Experience with wire soldering, wire crimping, or working with PCBs is a strong asset

Growth & Opportunity

Being a small team means there’s always more to learn and contribute. This role is a real entry point into the business, with a genuine path to growing into production and operations or moving toward product development and technical support depending on your interests and strengths.

Why FarmTRX?

  • Work on a specialized product that ships to farmers around the world
  • Small team — your contributions are visible and have direct impact
  • Genuine growth potential across operations or product
  • Competitive hourly rate: CA$20–$25 depending on experience
  • Health and dental benefits
  • On-site parking, casual dress

If you’re interested in this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway.
